The Indiana Fever are facing a do-or-die situation in Game 2 against the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday.
Caitlin Clark and Co. suffered a 102-85 blowout loss to the defending champions on Sunday, putting the Fever on the brink of elimination. This first-round matchup is a best-of-three series, so a loss on Tuesday in Game 2 will end Indiana’s season.
The good news for the Fever is that they will play this pivotal matchup at home. They will host the Aces at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The Fever appear to be pulling out all the stops for Game 2. On Monday, the team announced an unexpected decision about the jersey they will wear for Tuesday’s game.
“playoff jersey update 🚨 we’re rockin’ our Explorer threads for Game 2 🎽” the Fever posted on Instagram.
The team previously announced that they planned to wear the red Rebel Edition jersey for Game 2. However, they decided to make a significant change one day before they take the court for the win-or-go-home showdown.
The Fever are reportedly 7-0 in the Explorer Edition jersey.
Clark will need to be at her best on Tuesday as she looks to secure her first career playoff win. She finished with a 15-point, 10-assist double-double in Game 1, which wasn’t enough to lead her team to victory.
The Fever will also need to look for an answer for A’ja Wilson. The reigning WNBA MVP dominated Game 1, tying a playoff career high 38 points on 15-of-19 shooting, with 16 rebounds, two steals and four blocks.
Tipoff from Gainbridge Fieldhouse is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
