Caitlin Clark, one of the biggest names in the WNBA, is getting set for her third season with the Indiana Fever in 2026. She and the Fever began their preseason matchups last week and played their second game on Thursday before the regular season begins on May 9.
Thursday's game, which ended in a 95-80 loss to the Dallas Wings, was the first time she donned the Fever uniform at Gainbridge Fieldhouse since July, after suffering multiple injuries, which sidelined her for the remainder of the 2025 season.
Clark shined against the Wings, leading Indiana with 21 points of 4-of-6 shooting from the floor and 11-of-13 shooting from the free throw line. She also totaled three rebounds and four assists in the losing effort.

While Clark lit up the box score, Fever fans had to hold their breath once again, as it looked like the 24-year-old guard was in pain early in the third quarter. She was fouled hard by Wings forward Alanna Smith and fell to the ground in an awkward way. Smith was assessed a flagrant-1 foul on the play.
After knocking down a pair of free throws, Clark limped off the court and did not return to the game.
On Friday, the Fever announced an update on Clark's status, as she was not listed on the injury report for Indiana's final preseason game against Nigeria.
"Status Report for tomorrow's game vs. Nigeria: Lexie Hull – Out (hamstring) Justine Pissott - Out (lower leg)," the caption read.
This is great news for Fever fans who were frightened at the sight of their two-time All-Star missing games again this season. Dealing with multiple injuries last year, Clark played just 13 games.
Along with her being off the injury report, Clark said after Thursday's game that she felt "good."
"I feel good," she said, according to Los Angeles Times reporter Tracy Brown. "I just landed on my kneecap really hard."
While her minutes may be limited against Nigeria on Friday, Clark should be 100% when the Fever's regular-season schedule begins on May 9 against the Wings.
