Aliyah Boston remains one of the most important players on Indiana Fever during another outstanding campaign in 2026. Fresh off signing a historic contract extension earlier this season, the former No. 1 overall pick has continued to elevate her game, averaging 17.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists and continues to build her reputation as one of the WNBA’s best centers.
But Boston has quietly been managing a lower leg issue for months and Indiana has carefully monitored her workload to avoid aggravating the injury, particularly during stretches with multiple games in a short span. However, the Fever star still managed to appear in 22 games this season.

After playing in each of the Fever’s previous three games, Boston was listed as questionable injury report ahead of the team’s Friday meeting with the Seattle Storm at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
By Friday, however, head coach Stephanie White decided to sit Boston out of the game because of the lingering issue.
It marks the second time this month that Boston has been held out of the first game of a back-to-back, having also missed the July 8 matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks before returning the following night against the Phoenix Mercury.
The Fever appear to be preserving Boston for Saturday’s home showdown with the New York Liberty, though the team has yet to officially confirm her status for that contest.
Boston earned her fourth All-Star nod this season and has been a key reason why the Fever have won 14 games and hold the sixth best record in the WNBA. Indiana saw its two-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday against the Golden State Valkyries, and will look to bounce back without its starting center.
