It's fantasy football season.
While the 2026 NFL regular season doesn't start for another month, fantasy football drafts are starting to take place across the country. Leagues hosted by ESPN, Yahoo!, CBS, etc. are ramping up their drafts ahead of Week 1.
But while millions will be participating in fantasy football this fall, one longtime user is calling it quits.
A husband who recently became a father says that he has to quit playing fantasy football because of his family.

The new father sent out the following text message to his league members.
Gentlemen,
After careful consideration, countless sleepless nights (and even more coming soon), I've decided to resign from fantasy football for this season.
I've accepted a full-time position as Head Coach, General Manager, Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, and Diaper Changing Specialist for my newborn daughter.
Unfortunately, my Sundays will now consist of bottles instead of beers, diapers instead of draft boards, and trying to figure out why someone is crying.
I appreciate all the trash talk, bad trades, and the vetos.
Best of luck to everyone this season.
I'll be back next year, sleep-deprived, financially irresponsible, and ready to make terrible lineup decisions once again.
Fans are ripping the new father for his decision
"From experience, 3 am bottle feedings are the best time to be on the waiver wire. Bro is fumbling an underdog season," one fan wrote.
"Ive had a league for going on 17 years. Last year. Randomly on a Monday I got really sick. By Wednesday I was in kidney failure. Dying. In the ICU. I spent 9 days in the ICU. Then 5 days in the hospital. Got out. Had to go back 4 days later for a blood transfusion and surgery. I had my buddy bring me my laptop. I set my lineups the whole time. Made a waiver claim. Even though I didn't know if I'd live. Theres integrity behind this. I owe it to everyone who paid to play," one fan added.
"Probably took more time to draft this text than it would his entire roster," one fan added.
"His wife is definitely checking the waiver wire even though this was probably her idea," one fan joked.
Never quit fantasy football, people.
