The Golden State Warriors continue their 2026-27 preseason schedule Wednesday night when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers at Moda Center. The game marks the return of one of the NBA’s biggest stars: Damian Lillard. The 9-time All-Star will play for Portland again after missing the entire 2025-26 season with an Achilles injury.
Golden State enters the matchup at 1-1 in the preseason after beating the Los Angeles Lakers 124-98 on Tuesday night. The Warriors are playing their third game in four days and will give sit out some players.
Portland, meanwhile, is opening its preseason schedule at home. The Trail Blazers will get their first opportunity to test their revamped roster against NBA competition before the regular season begins later this month.

Warriors vs Trail Blazers Overview
Portland will open its preseason with a starting lineup featuring Lillard, Ja Morant, Deni Avdija, Toumani Camara and Donovan Clingan.
Morant is making his Trail Blazers debut after Portland acquired him from the Memphis Grizzlies in June. The Blazers sent Jerami Grant and Kris Murray to Memphis in the trade for the two-time All-Star guard.
Golden State is expected to give several veterans the night off after playing the Lakers on Tuesday. Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Al Horford, Brandin Podziemski, De’Anthony Melton, Gui Santos and Gary Payton II did not travel to Portland.
That leaves an opportunity for Golden State’s younger players and reserves to take on bigger roles. Brandon Williams, LJ Cryer, Will Richard, Malevy Leons and Charles Bassey were listed as the projected starting five.
