Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Miami Heat will host Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Kaseya Center to open the 2026-27 NBA regular season. Both teams have new-look rosters, with Miami owner and president Pat Riley making the big offseason roster move of acquiring forward Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks.
Milwaukee had a disappointing 2025-26 NBA regular season, finishing No. 3 in the Central Division and missing the playoffs entirely with a 32-50 record. Miami was able to make the 2026 NBA Play-In Tournament, ending the season at No. 4 in the Southeast Division with a 43-39 record.
