The Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks meet for the second time in three days Thursday night, with the Pacific Division rivals wrapping up their season-opening home-and-home series at Rogers Arena.
Vancouver took the first meeting 6-5 in overtime Tuesday after Edmonton erased a three-goal deficit. Evan Bouchard scored a hat trick for the Oilers, but the Canucks ultimately secured the extra point in a game that featured 11 goals.
The rematch gives Edmonton an immediate chance to even the series while Vancouver looks to open the 2026-27 NHL season with two victories. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are expected to skate together after the Oilers lost Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to a lower-body injury.
