No. 3 Notre Dame heads to West Lafayette on Saturday for its fourth game of the 2026 college football season, with the Fighting Irish looking to remain unbeaten against Purdue.
Notre Dame enters the matchup at 3-0 after opening the season with wins over Wisconsin, Rice and Michigan State. The Irish handled Michigan State 27-10 last Saturday after previously shutting out Rice 52-0 and beating Wisconsin 41-13.
Purdue is 1-2 entering the matchup and will host Notre Dame at Ross-Ade Stadium. The Boilermakers are coming off a 52-38 loss to UCLA and have not beaten the Fighting Irish since 2007. Notre Dame won last year’s meeting 56-30 in South Bend.

Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr has completed 72.6% of his passes for 726 yards and six touchdowns through three games. He threw for 234 yards and added a rushing touchdown in last week’s win over Michigan State.
Purdue will need its offense to keep pace against a Notre Dame defense that has allowed only 23 points through three games. The Boilermakers have struggled against the run, allowing 207 rushing yards per game, according to NBC Sports.
The matchup is the 90th meeting between the schools. Notre Dame leads the all-time series 61-26-2, while the teams will once again play for the Shillelagh Trophy.
