The Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors open their 2026-27 NBA preseason Saturday night in Québec City as part of the NBA Canada Series.
The matchup is one of the most anticipated preseason games on the schedule because it marks Giannis Antetokounmpo’s first game with the Heat after his blockbuster move from the Milwaukee Bucks. Fans will have to wait for Kawhi Leonard’s first game back in a Toronto uniform after he was ruled inactive before the game.
Miami and Toronto will meet at the Videotron Centre, which is hosting its first NBA game.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kawhi Leonard Headline Preseason Game
Saturday’s game gives Heat fans their first opportunity to see Antetokounmpo in a Miami uniform after the franchise acquired the two-time MVP from Milwaukee.
The former Bucks star spent his entire NBA career in Milwaukee before joining Miami this offseason. He enters his first preseason with the Heat after averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists during the 2025-26 season.
Leonard is back with the Raptors after the team acquired him from the Los Angeles Clippers in September. He last played for Toronto in June 2019, when he led the franchise to its first NBA championship and won Finals MVP. However, he will not play Saturday.
The matchup therefore gives fans an early look at two Eastern Conference contenders with significantly different rosters heading into the regular season.
Toronto will start Immanuel Quickley, Ja’Kobe Walter, RJ Barrett, Scottie Barnes, and Jakob Pöltl. Miami’s starting five will feature Davion Mitchell, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.
