Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to make it to the World Series as the Milwaukee Brewers host Game 2, hoping to make their second World Series appearance in franchise history.
The Brewers ended the regular season with the best record in baseball (103-59), with the Dodgers (100-62) being the only other team to join them in the 100-win category. The top two teams are facing off in the NLCS for the second year in a row.

The Brewers are one of five Major League Baseball franchises to have never won a title. The team Milwaukee just defeated in the divisional round, the San Diego Padres, is the oldest franchise to have never won a World Series (founded in 1969), while the Tampa Bay Rays (founded in 1998) could erase their name from this list as they face the Cleveland Guardians in the ALCS.
The Seattle Mariners (founded in 1977) hold the unfortunate distinction of being the only MLB franchise to have never appeared in a World Series, with the Colorado Rockies (founded in 1993) rounding out the five franchises to have never won.
The Brewers are known for their depth, with strong hitters throughout their lineup. Left fielder Jackson Chourio finished with a team-high .291 batting average. First baseman Jake Bauers led the Brewers in home runs (26), on-base percentage (.389) and OPS (.874), while second baseman Brice Turang ranked ninth in the league with a team-high 100 RBIs and finished with a team-high 156 hits.
During the 2026 MLB regular season, the Dodgers were led by first baseman Freddie Freeman in batting average (.288) and hits (167). Ohtani led Los Angeles in home runs (30), on-base percentage (.377) and OPS (.889). Center fielder Andy Pages finished with team highs in RBIs (84) and WAR (6.0).
