Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy pulled starting pitcher Dustin May after 3.0 innings pitched, having allowed two earned runs and walked two batters. Catcher William Contreras hit the Brewers’ only home run, going 3-for-4 with a walk.
Machado was able to knock in a clutch two-out RBI and second baseman Jake Cronenworth came into the matchup 1-for-13 in the 2026 MLB playoffs and knocked in a home run, going 2-for-2. Third baseman Machado went 1-for-3 with a walk, with right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. going 0-for-4.
