Gasser has pitched 4.0 innings in the 2026 MLB playoffs, striking out three hitters while allowing three hits and walking one batter. Gasser went 5-5 with a 3.87 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP during the 2026 Major League Baseball regular season.
Ohtani has struggled in the playoffs and in this NLCS. The 32-year-old has gone 3-for-20 overall without a single extra-base hit. The 6-foot-4 designated hitter has gone 1-for-7 against the Brewers so far. First baseman Freddie Freeman (1-for-7) has also struggled so far. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts will hope the bats of Ohtani and Freeman wake up in Game 3.
The winner of this best-of-seven series will go on to face the winner of the ALCS between José Ramírez and the Cleveland Guardians and Junior Caminero and the Tampa Bay Rays.
