Henry Cejudo is trading the Octagon for the boxing ring this weekend, and his opponent may already be familiar to fans outside combat sports.
The former two-division UFC champion and 2008 Olympic wrestling gold medalist will make his professional boxing debut against Javon “Wanna” Walton on Saturday, Sept. 26, in Miami. Walton stepped in after Cejudo’s original opponent, Deen The Great, withdrew due to injury.
Walton is best known for playing Ashtray on HBO’s hit series Euphoria, but boxing isn’t simply a celebrity crossover for the 20-year-old. Walton has trained in the sport since childhood, is signed to Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and enters the matchup with a 3-0-1 professional record.
