Nobody can deny how great a player Tyler Herro is for the Miami Heat. It's hard to ignore someone who averages 21.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists on 49.7% shooting and 35.8% from deep, after all.

However, availability has always been the roadblock that has prevented him from joining the ranks of NBA superstars. He's never had a full season of NBA basketball, and he's currently out of commission for the Heat because of a right rib contusion that has kept him out of the Heat rotation for 14 straight games.

This season, the 26-year-old guard has been in street clothes more than in a Heat jersey, as he's only been on the hardwood 11 times. While the team is somehow getting by without him, it's also clear that they'd be in a better spot if he were playing more regularly.

As Heat fans wait for his return, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra gave fans an update on the timeline of their star guard's return.

To maybe no one's surprise, Spoelstra told reporters that there's still no clear timetable for Herro's return. However, he did share that the star guard is progressing nicely in his recovery.

"I can tell you that he is making progress," Spoelstra said of Herro's condition, per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.

Herro's injury situation is only worsening the Heat's playoff hopes. Aside from Herro, Pelle Larsson and Norman Powell were also sidelined for the team's game against the Utah Jazz on Monday.

While Bam Adebayo and Andrew Wiggins are serviceable scorers, the Heat badly need Herro's scoring. Fans can only hope for a quick recovery for their star.
