The Guardians made a pair of roster adjustments ahead of Sunday’s series finale against the Philadelphia Phillies, bringing back a familiar face to help strengthen the pitching staff.

Guardians insider GuardsInsider posted on X that the team had recalled left-handed pitcher Logan Allen from Triple-A Columbus while designating right-hander Peyton Pallette for assignment.

The move gives Guardians another starting option as the club continues navigating a demanding stretch of games. Allen has spent the last few years moving between Columbus and Cleveland, becoming one of the organization’s more dependable depth arms. This latest promotion marks Allen’s third call-up of the 2026 season.

Allen owns a 23-24 record with a 4.48 ERA in 74 career appearances, including 73 starts. Across 379.1 innings, he has recorded 320 strikeouts while posting a 1.445 WHIP.

The left-hander’s best season came in 2023, when he posted a 3.81 ERA across 24 starts. During that campaign, Allen consistently provided quality innings and showed strong confidence on the mound. Since then, he has continued working to regain that same level of stability and command.

Cleveland’s decision to bring him back likely comes down to preserving the pitching staff during a long season. The Guardians have leaned heavily on their arms this year, and adding another experienced option gives the club more flexibility moving forward.

On the other side of the transaction, Pallette’s time on the active roster may be nearing an end. The 25-year-old right-hander was selected by Cleveland in the Rule 5 Draft last December, giving him his first opportunity to pitch in the majors.

Pallette appeared in 16 games for the Guardians this season, posting a 1-2 record with a 5.23 ERA across 20.2 innings.

He also struck out 22 batters but struggled with consistency at times, finishing with a 1.597 WHIP. Despite the uneven results, Pallette showed flashes of promise during his stint in Cleveland.

The Guardians entered Sunday’s matchup in Philadelphia with a 31-23 record after dropping Saturday’s game to the Phillies. Pitching has remained one of the biggest reasons for Cleveland’s success this season, and the front office continues making moves aimed at keeping that strength intact.

Now, with Allen back on the roster, the Guardians will try to finish the series on a positive note before beginning the next stretch of the season.
