NWSL reigning champions Gotham FC added to their goaltending depth by signing United States youth international Teagan Wy to a three-year contract. Her contract will run through the 2028 season.
Wy joins an already deep pool of Gotham goalkeepers with first choice netminder Ann-Katrin Berger, Shelby Hogan and Ryan Campbell already on the books.
At some point, Berger will hang up her gloves and pass the baton to her successor. The 35-year-old backstopped Gotham to glory in the 2025 NWSL Championship against Washington, and she guided the Bats to victory in the 2025 CONCACAF W Champions Cup final win over Tigres UANL.
The 21-year-old could perhaps go on to become Gotham’s No. 1 given her promising track record. She will immediately join up with Gotham’s ongoing preseason camp in Spain ahead of the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup.
“Teagan is an exciting young goalkeeper who has significant experience within the youth national team system,” Gotham’s general manager and head of soccer operations, Yael Averbuch West, said. “We’re pleased to add her to our outstanding goalkeeping department and look forward to working with her.”

Wy has previously represented the USWNT at the under-15 and under-20 levels and played for the United States at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, where she started every match.
She has been handed the No. 20 shirt for Gotham after completing four years at the University of California.
“I’m so excited and thankful to be joining Gotham FC,” Wy said. “This opportunity means the world to me, and I can’t wait to grow with this team. The culture here and the passion from everyone involved are something special. I’m ready to learn, work hard every day and give everything to help this team succeed.”
Given her accomplishments and progress for the USWNT youth teams, Wy could prove to be a valuable capture for the defending NWSL champions.
