New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo was having an impressive rookie season. In eight games, he rushed the ball 101 times for 410 yards and five touchdowns. He was also effective as a receiver with 24 receptions for 207 yards and two touchdowns.
When Tyrone Tracy Jr. went down with an injury, he was promoted to the starting role. He made five straight starts from Week 4 to Week 8. However, his season was cut short after suffering an ankle injury against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Now on the road to recovery, the former Arizona State Sun Devil is eyeing a return at the start of the 2026 season.

While healing up, the running back hasn't stayed out of the public eye. He took part in several pre-Super Bowl events in Santa Clara, including the Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl VII and the "New Heights" party.
Despite that, Skattebo revealed on Friday he won't be in attendance when the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots face off. Instead, he'll be using his inability to participate as motivation.
"I'll be out of town before the game starts, so I won't be here during the Super Bowl... I am gone before the Super Bowl," Skattebo said in a video posted by the New York Post's Ryan Dunleavy. "I will be at the Super Bowl when I play in it."
After going 4-13 and finishing in fourth place in the NFC East, the Giants have some work to do before playing for the Lombardi Trophy. However, they will be under new leadership in 2026 after hiring head coach John Harbaugh. For now, Skattebo remains focused on his recovery and returning ready to make an impact next season.
