Cam Skattebo attended the Fanatics Fest and answered questions from supporters. He vowed not to get hurt ahead of the season, which drew loud applause from those in attendance.
Skattebo recently made headlines for landing awkwardly when he did a backflip. Many expressed concern and stressed that he shouldn't attempt those, as he isn't back to 100%. He continues to recover from the gruesome injury he suffered last season.
The New York Giants running back dislocated his ankle in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the team ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign. He has since undergone surgery and is preparing to return to action as early as Week 1.
"I will not hurt myself before the season," Skattebo pledged.
Skattebo had to address his botched backflip attempt after it went viral. The Giants star promised not to injure himself following the unwanted incident, but he didn't exactly commit to avoiding such shenanigans.
Skattebo played eight games in 2025, including five starts. He recorded 101 rushing attempts for 410 yards and five touchdowns. Skattebo added 24 receptions for 207 yards and two scores.
The Giants enter the new season with a lot of promise. With new head coach John Harbaugh at the helm, the team retooled its roster by signing key veterans like tight end Isaiah Likely and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, among others. The franchise also drafted former Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese at No. 5 and former Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa at No. 10 overall.

The additions and Skattebo's return give Jaxson Dart more weapons at his disposal. A bolstered offensive line will allow the starting quarterback to scan the field longer and connect with targets.
New York finished 2025 with a 4-13 record and at the bottom of the NFC East. The conference and the division remain stacked, but with a stronger roster, the Giants are better positioned to compete against the powerhouse teams.
Skattebo also aims to prove that his injury is behind him and show that he has a lot more in his bag.
