New York Giants defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence might be on the move ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Giants have received 341 total tackles, 40 tackles for loss, 30.5 sacks and five forced fumbles from Lawrence since drafting him in 2019. While there's no denying the three-time Pro Bowler has been productive, he's coming off arguably the worst season of his career.
Lawrence, 28, has two seasons remaining on his four-year, $90 million deal with the Giants. Even though he's coming off a rough 2025 campaign, he'd like to receive a lofty extension.
A week ago, Lawrence requested a trade from the Giants. Although his request hasn't been granted yet, he's inching closer to a departure.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Giants and Lawrence have reached an impasse. As a result, they've engaged in trade talks with other teams.
"The Giants have engaged with teams on a potential trade and that will continue. It should come to a head before the Draft," Rapoport wrote. "By the time the Draft arrives, the Giants should gain a full understanding of league-wide interest in Dexter Lawrence, allowing them to make an all-important decision on his future and theirs."
It's unclear if a top suitor has emerged for Lawrence just yet, but trade talks could ramp up between now and the start of the NFL Draft.
The G-Men would prefer to keep Dexter Lawrence.
Before this report from Rapoport was made public, Giants general manager Joe Schoen talked about Lawrence's future with the team.
"I’ll echo what coach said last week, we’d like for Dexter to be here, and at some point we’ll come to a resolution here," Schoen said, via Audacy. "Whatever that may be, we’ll see, but conversations have been really good."
We'll see if Lawrence and the Giants work out an extension that's fair for both parties.
