Could we see Giannis Antetokounmpo and Steph Curry join forces this NBA offseason? Fans received an answer to that question this week.
Antetokounmpo was mentioned in trade rumos prior and during the 2025-26 season. Although he missed an extended period of time due to injury, he still averaged 27.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game for the Milwaukee Bucks.
Despite all the memories Antetokounmpo has made in Milwaukee, ESPN's Shams Charania said the "Greek Freak" is ready for a change of scenery.
“Giannis’ situation has been playing out for 12 months. The Milwaukee Bucks are officially open for business. They’re getting teams’ best offers between now and the NBA Draft,” Charania said. “Giannis, for a period of months, has made it clear to the Bucks that he believes the time has come for both sides to part ways.”

According to Jake Fischer, the rumor in NBA circles right now is that Antetokounmpo isn't enamored with the idea of him being "second fiddle" to Curry.
Warriors fans didn't exactly appreciate this rumor. In fact, some believe it's a really bad look for Milwaukee's two-time MVP.
"One of the most unselfish NBA players btw but okay," one fan commented.
"Don’t think he’s enamored with being anybody’s 2nd fiddle. Another reason he doesn’t make a ton of sense for LAL," a second fan said.
"Worried about being “second fiddle” instead of winning rings," another fan wrote.
"Enjoy 1 ring," another fan added.
Who'll make a run at Giannis?
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst recently said the Cleveland Cavaliers could quickly emerge as a suitor for Antetokounmpo.
The Cavaliers could become the favorites to land Antetokounmpo if they're willing to part ways with Evan Mobley, who averaged 18.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game this season.
“I don’t think it will be long before you start to hear Cavs attached to Giannis,” Windhorst said. “If they put Evan Mobley on the table, as hard as that would be, Evan Mobley is in his mid-20s. When they drafted Evan Mobley, they drafted him to be another Giannis. What if they could turn him into Giannis with Harden and Donovan Mitchell on the roster? They have not crossed that bridge yet, but that is something that they may have to consider, especially as we lead up to the draft and the Bucks get serious about listening to offers for Giannis.”
The Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers have also been named suitors for Antetokounmpo at this time.
