Bayern Munich secured another Bundesliga title over the weekend, continuing its domestic dominance with a 4-2 win over Stuttgart, marking its 13th title in the last 14 seasons.

The focus for the Bavarian side now shifts to its upcoming fixtures, including a DFB-Pokal semifinal and a Champions League matchup against reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain.

One of the late-season injuries the German club is navigating involves Germany international Serge Gnabry, who missed the title-clinching match after tearing his right adductor.

Bayern confirmed the 30-year-old will be out for an extended and undetermined period of time, ruling him out for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. Gnabry finished the year with 10 goals and 11 assists across all competitions.

That timeline will also impact Gnabry's international availability with the Germany national football team set to compete in the 2026 World Cup.

Gnabry confirmed the worst possible news himself in a statement on Wednesday.

“The last few days have been tough to process,” Gnabry wrote. “As for the World Cup dream with Germany…that’s sadly over for me.”

Gnabry also outlined his next steps as he begins recovery, writing, “Now it’s time to focus on recovery and getting back for pre-season.”

Gnabry had been part of Germany’s qualification run, recording three goals and one assist in six appearances.

The Bayern forward has earned 59 caps for Germany, scoring 26 goals, and was expected to feature in the tournament after starting all three group matches at the 2022 World Cup.

Germany is scheduled to open its World Cup group stage against Curacao on June 14.
