Colorado head coach Deion Sanders got one of the biggest wins of his coaching career when he led his Buffaloes into Atlanta’s Bobby Dodd Stadium and took down Georgia Tech on the road. But not every Georgia Tech fan was humble in defeat.
Video from the field shows Coach Prime and his son Shedeur Sanders walking off the field in celebration together. But right as the duo entered the tunnel, a fan of the Yellow Jackets yelled an expletive at the Colorado coach.
Sanders briefly turned and seemed to say something in the direction of the offending fan before continuing to the locker room.
The Fans Clap Back
College football fans were not at all amused by that one fan’s antics. Many called him out for being a sore loser and trying to bait Coach Sanders into making some kind of scene:
“Trying to Get him out of Character so they can Sue- Cowards!!” one user wrote.
“Deions probably used to hecklers he’s a former NFL player for crying out loud,” another pointed out.
“Unnecessary and disgusting that somebody would disrespect deion like that,” a third wrote.
“Disrespecting prime in Atlanta is nasty.”
“Here come all the ‘Deion Sanders is what’s wrong with college football’ people, meanwhile Lane Kiffin is causing absolute chaos in court allowing pro athletes play in college sports and all he gets is ‘oh Lane is just being Lane’…”

It was nevertheless a very strong start to the season for Sanders in a year where he absolutely needs one. Colorado’s defense held Georgia Tech to 13 points – their fewest allowed since last year’s Week 2 win over Delaware, an FCS school.
Colorado QB Julian Lewis didn’t exactly light up the scoreboard but he was efficient with the ball, completing 14 of 27 passes for 124 yards and a game-winning touchdown pass with a 102.7 QB rating.
Up next for the Buffaloes is their home opener on September 12 against Weber State of FCS.
