The NFL Scouting Combine is in full swing at Lucas Oil stadium in Indianapolis, with pro football hopefuls giving teams a measure of their skill sets and athletic abilities.

However, Georgia Bulldogs tight end Oscar Delp's combine has come to a premature end. The NFL will not allow him to participate in the event due to liability issues. An X-ray revealed Delp has a hairline fracture in his foot. The tight end will now work out at Georgia's pro day, which is scheduled for March 18.

According to Atlanta ABC Channel 2 sports director Zach Klein, Delp apparently played the entirety of last season at Georgia with the hairline fracture and was unaware of the injury until a routine X-ray diagnosed it. Delp played 55 games for the Bulldogs and finished with 70 receptions for 854 yards and nine touchdowns. He started 34 of those games and recorded 20 receptions for 248 yards and one touchdown in 2025.

“I don’t know if there is a better offense to be a part of [to prepare you for the NFL],” Delp said at the combine. “I get here and there are teams who are installing plays, and they are asking me to recall it back. It’s basically our exact formations, our exact plays that we were running a little bit of different verbiage. We’ve run the closest thing I’ve seen to a pro-style offense.”

The tight end class for 2026 is brimming with talent and is projected to be top-heavy, and Delp will face stiff competition from his positional peers to be drafted on Day 1 and Day 2. The Oregon Ducks' Kenyon Sadiq, Vanderbilt Commodores' Eli Stowers, Ohio State Buckeyes' Max Klare, NC State Wolfpack's Justin Joly and Baylor Bears' Michael Trigg are all expected to be selected in the early rounds.

Georgia has strong representation at the 2026 combine, with 10 players participating, including Delp. The other players are wide receivers Dillon Bell, Zachariah Branch and Colbie Young, offensive tackle Monroe Freeling and guard Micah Morris. On the defensive side of the ball, defensive tackle Christen Miller, linebacker CJ Allen and cornerback Daylen Everette are representing the program, along with punter Brett Thorson.
