The Mercedes driver and Carmen first met in 2020, when they were both 22. Carmen was invited by a mutual Spanish acquaintance to have a casual drink at Soho House in White City, London on a Sunday night. Russell came with his housemate, and an unexpected encounter became something much more significant.
Carmen was completing her studies in London and Russell was getting ready for his second season in Formula 1 with Williams.

The ring that Carmen wore on her finger was soon the subject of conversation. According to jewelry experts quoted by Marie Claire Australia, the natural oval yellow diamond could be anywhere from eight to 10 carats, and could be worth more than $1 million.
The couple's journey has thus taken a long way from that casual encounter in London in 2020. It started as a blind date and has turned into a serious relationship that has followed Russell's career in Formula 1.
