France and Iraq face off today for Matchday 2 at the 2026 World Cup at Philadelphia Stadium.
France is looking to secure qualification for the Round of 32 after opening the tournament with a 3-1 win over Senegal, and Iraq is searching for a response after suffering a 4-1 defeat to Norway in its first World Cup appearance since 1986.
A win would guarantee Les Bleus to advance to the knockout stage. Iraq needs a positive result to keep its qualification hopes alive heading into the final group match.
One player to watch heading into the game is the form of Kylian Mbappé. The France captain scored two goals, including the opening breakthrough and a spectacular late strike, bringing his career World Cup tally to 14 goals.
