Formula 1 star driver Charles LeClerc and his wife, Alexandra LeClerc, are expecting their first child together.
The 28-year-old Formula 1 star and his wife, 25, got married this past February. They confirmed that they are set to welcome their first baby together, sharing the news on Instagram earlier this month.
Alexandra LeClerc, who has five million Instagram followers, shared the big news with a social media post.
“🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞,” she wrote, sharing pregnancy photos from on board a yacht.
But as the happy couple is expecting a child together, the Formula 1 driver has been called out for a yacht video alongside his pregnant wife.
Charles LeClerc faces backlash as yacht video surfaces
Video appears to show LeClerc getting out of the water and not helping his pregnant wife get on board.
“Professional athletes are the worst role models,” one critic said.
“Outrage is growing after formula One driver Charles Leclerc refused to help his pregnant wife.”
The video can be seen here.
Fans are debating if LeClerc was in the wrong.
“She’s pregnant not disabled. If she had asked for help and he said no that would be different. I was mowing the grass with a push mower 9 months pregnant,” one fan wrote.
“I seriously believe she was capable of making the simple step up. She’s pregnant, not handicapped,” one fan added.
“A gentle man would have turned to her and offered her a hand up, pregnant or not. That’s what love looks like to a woman. A loving man knows that,” one fan added.
“When your pregnant wife is climbing onto the yacht and you are just vibing 😂 Priorities I guess. Chivalry took the day off in Sardinia,” one fan added.
What do you make of the longtime Formula 1 star’s behavior on board the yacht with his wife?
