Former WNBA guard Kysre Gondrezick has managed to grab the basketball world's attention this Friday by simply posting a photo online.
Gondrezick, the No. 4 overall pick from the 2021 WNBA Draft, started her professional career with the Indiana Fever. She then joined the Chicago Sky in 2024, but the front office released her mid-season after she averaged just 3.2 minutes per game.
The plan was for Gondrezick to compete for Athletes Unlimited this year to prepare for the 2026 WNBA season. Unfortunately, she suffered a torn Achilles during a January workout at the University of Miami.
“This hurts! Truly one of the hardest, most shocking moments of my journey thus far. I was diagnosed with a torn Achilles this week and am heading into immediate surgery. I truly don’t wish this upon anyone, but I believe in my creator and in the discipline of becoming the best player and version of myself from this experience. I am completely devastated with just one week away before reporting, but I would like to thank @auprobasketball for giving me more than an opportunity; they gave me purpose and hope in pursuit of my dream,” Gondrezick wrote on Instagram.

Gondrezick didn't provide an update on her recovery this Friday. She did, however, share a photo of her wearing a very tiny top on social media.
In a matter of minutes, Gondrezick received countless comments from her fans. Some of them were disappointed by this photo, whereas others raved about it.
"This has to be AI," one fan replied. "Lord have mercy."
"My goodness," a second fan wrote.
"You don’t need to degrade yourself for attention," a social media user commented.
"Unnecessary. Youre too talented for this," another person said.
Kysre Gondrezick recently made history.
Gondrezick announced in October that she was going to be featured in the “Winter 2025-26” issue of Playboy. She's officially the first current female professional basketball player to ever pose for the magazine.
“What people label as a transition, I embody as evolution,” Gondrezick said. “I’m not stepping outside who I am. I’m building a multidimensional brand.”
At this rate, it wouldn't surprise us if Gondrezick graces the cover of another iconic magazine in the coming months.
