Michigan's basketball program has landed a big commitment from a top 2026 recruit.

According to On3/Rivals' Joe Tipton, Lincoln Cosby has committed to the Michigan Wolverines. He was a top-10 recruit in the 2027 recruiting class before reclassifying to the 2026 class.

Cosby is a top 25 recruit in the 2026 class, per On3 and Rivals. He's also a four-star recruit and the seventh-best recruit in Florida, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

This is a good get for the Wolverines as they look to replenish their team for the future. They're one of the top teams in the country this year and are 22-1 overall after beating the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday, 82-61.

Michigan State's head coach Tom Izzo, left, shakes hands with Michigan's head coach Dusty May after the game.

Aday Mara led all Wolverines players with 24 points and six rebounds in the dominant win.

Michigan head coach Dusty May has done an incredible job with the team since taking over ahead of the 2024-25 season. He led Florida Atlantic to the Final Four during the 2022-23 season and took the program back to the NCAA Tournament in 2023-24 before taking the Michigan gig.

Michigan went 27-10 last season and made the NCAA Tournament after winning the Big Ten Tournament. The program is currently on pace to get a No. 1 seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, especially with a strong finish to the regular season.

Once this season ends, Michigan will have Cosby in the fold for the 2026-27 season.
