Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp reportedly got into some serious trouble in Florida. But it appears he won't be going to a courtroom any time soon.
According to TMZ, Sapp was investigated for an alleged battery that took place at a senior living facility in Florida. However, prosecutors have decided not to charge Sapp with any crimes.
TMZ obtained a police report from the Apopka Police Department about a response to an incident at the Solaris Healthcare facility back in May. A female employee claimed that Sapp "got physical with her."
"The employee alleged Warren came to Solaris asking for records and answers regarding their family members’ insurance... due to issues with claims being denied... and she said he 'became verbally hostile,'" the outlet reported.
"She told cops she called her male boss and put him on speakerphone for Warren to hear... and she said Warren became increasingly agitated with her. She claimed Warren went to grab her phone and made contact with her wrist."
Per the report, the woman told Sapp not to touch her then asked other staff members to call the police. Sapp reportedly left before the police arrived.
Aftermath
The report states that a review of the security footage did not have a sufficient angle to see the physical contact. Police attempted to speak to Sapp, but he never returned their calls.
TMZ said that while officers believed they had probable cause to charge Sapp with battery, prosecutors have decided not to.
