NFL fans have long accused officials of “rigging” games when certain calls don’t go their favorite team’s way.
It’s been happening for decades. Referees, like players and coaches, are not perfect. They make mistakes – big ones, sometimes.
But former a NFL lineman believes that he knows that officials are “rigging” games, at both the college and professional level.
Saturday’s college football games featured a ton of controversial, game-changing calls, including in huge contests like Ohio State vs. Indiana and Notre Dame vs. BYU.

Former NFL lineman Breiden Fehoko accused the refs of “rigging” games in a viral social media post.
“I won’t even be quiet about it no more. When I played in the NFL we all knew officials were rigging games certain ways. It happens at the college ranks. Last year when I put the NFL on blast about it they threatened to pull my pension. (Expletive) em. The world deserves to know,” he wrote on X.
NFL fans react to the ‘rigging’ accusations
NFL fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to weigh in on the “rigging” accusations.
“Don’t lose your pension bro. We all know it’s rigged,” one fan wrote.
“College refs are more corrupt than a third world police department,” one fan added.
“Pretty much been my perspective for a little bit. Defensive holding and illegal contact for automatic first downs can be selectively enforced. Offensive holding can be selectively enforced. These are major situations where the refs can put their thumb on the scale,” another fan wrote on X.
“This post means nothing. Keep distracting people by blaming the refs. We all know the players are complicit,” one fan added on X.
Ultimately, as long as sports are being played with human referees, accusations are going to fly when it comes to the on-field calls.
