NFL fans learned Tuesday that pass rusher Joe Tryon-Shoyinka is retiring at the age of 27.
Tryon-Shoyinka had a great run at Washington, racking up 61 total tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and nine sacks. He was then selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 32nd overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
In four years with the Buccaneers, Tryon-Shoyinka had 138 tackles and 15 sacks. Although there were moments where he looked good, his fifth-year option wasn't picked up. That opened the door for him to sign a one-year deal with the Cleveland Browns in March 2025.
The Browns traded Tryon-Shoyinka to the Chicago Bears during the 2025 season. He then signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason.

What happened to Tryon-Shoyinka?
It was reported earlier his week that Tryon-Shoyinka was a no-show at minicamp for the Eagles. That sparked speculation about his future in the NFL.
Well, the Eagles placed Tryon-Shoyinka on the reserve-retired list this Tuesday afternoon.
Tryon-Shoyinka could always change his mind and return to the gridiron later this year. For now though, he seems ready to take a break from the NFL.
