Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson was put on blast this Thursday by a former NBA champion.
With a little over four minutes remaining in Game 2, Wilson confronted an Indiana Fever fan near the baseline after he pointed at her. The Fever said the fan involved in this incident didn’t violate their code of conduct. As a result, he wasn’t ejected from the arena.
After Wilson was assessed a technical foul, Prime Video’s entire broadcast crew defended her actions.
“To be honest with you, if you’re a player, you can’t say anything. We’re human beings as well and I think sometimes fans get into the game and think they can say whatever they want” Parker said, via Awful Announcing. “We don’t know what was said, but A’ja took exception to it.”

LaChina Robinson argued that Wilson’s response to the fan pointing at her was “absolutely necessary.” Lindsey Harding, meanwhile, jumped to the conclusion that something “disrespectful” was said to the four-time MVP.
While there’s no denying Wilson’s greatness, Jackson thinks WNBA announcers are afraid to call out her and other superstars when they step out of line.
“How come the women announcers not holding these WNBA players accountable when they do something?” Jackson said. “Y’all want to be treated like NBA players, but y’all don’t want to be accountable.”
Did A’ja Wilson overreact?
Jackson mentioned how ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith would constantly hold NBA players accountable. Well, Smith called out Wilson during Wednesday’s episode of “First Take.”
“It looks like an overreaction. When you tangle with another player, a fan standing up and pointing at you is not a crime. He’s a fan… Respectfully, what did he do? I don’t get it,” Smith said.
According to Annie Costabile of The Athletic, the WNBA has determined that Wilson won’t face any fine or penalty for her role in Tuesday night’s altercation.
The Aces and Fever will square off this Thursday night in a win-or-go-home game.
