Former NCAA women’s soccer player Savannah Stair was killed in a terrible accident over the weekend. She was 28 years old.
Stair, who played collegiately at Middle Tennessee State University, was killed in a rollover crash in Nashville’s MetroCenter area late Friday night. The accident happened around 11 p.m.
The accident was a single-car crash.
“According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the preliminary investigation indicates 28-year-old Savannah Stair was driving a Toyota 4Runner eastbound when it ran off the road at a curve, hit a curb, and overturned,” ABC 2 reported.
“Authorities said the Nashville woman was brought to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she died.”
Middle Tennessee State University confirmed her passing on social media.
“We are saddened to share the passing of former Blue Raider Savannah Stair. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time,” the school announced.
Stair played in high school at Sevier County High School, earning all-district selection three times. She went on to play for Middle Tennessee State University from 2016 until 2019.
She had an impressive career at Middle Tennessee State, starting every game her junior season, starting on the backline and totaling 1,608 minutes. As a senior, she appeared in 14 games, five of which she started in on the backline.
As of this time, no further details have been released on her crash.
