Former MLB pitcher Noah Syndergaard isn't afraid to share his political opinion with the rest of the world.

Syndergaard, 33, rose to prominence in 2016 due to his All-Star season with the New York Mets. He had a 2.60 ERA with a 14-9 record and 218 strikeouts. Although he was never able to replicate that magic, he kept playing through the 2023 season. He had stints with the Los Angeles Angels, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers and Cleveland Guardians.

On Tuesday afternoon, Syndergaard was at the White House to celebrate the return of the Presidential Fitness Test. The former first-round pick opened up about his first meeting at the Oval Office during an interview with FOX's Laura Ingraham.

"It's a dream come true, I'm riding this bliss in this moment," the former All-Star pitcher said.

A few moments later, Syndergaard called out the president's critics.

"I really just don't quite understand the negativity or the pessimism he gets from the media and some of the population of this nation because he's just such a patriotic guy, and he cares so much [about] everybody and the health of this nation and the health of this world," Syndergaard told Ingraham.

Syndergaard received an endorsement from Trump.

As Trump was listing off the athletes in the Oval Office on Tuesday, he joked about Syndergaard's appearance.

"Professional baseball pitcher, Noah Syndergaard, sometimes known as Thor, and he looks like Thor to me," Trump said. "That is a man that I wouldn’t want to get in a fight with."

That comment from Trump got a chuckle out of most people in the room, that's for sure.

Who knows? Maybe Trump will invite Syndergaard back to the White House later this year.
