Oft-injured former Liverpool and Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is on the verge of joining Scottish champions Celtic, according to a Sky Sports report.
The 32-year-old midfielder most recently played for Beşiktaş. His contract was terminated by the Turkish club in August 2025.
James Savundra and Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports reported that Celtic is understood to be close to signing Oxlade-Chamberlain ahead of the midnight registration deadline for the Europa League play-off. He is expected to undergo a medical on Thursday.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has been training with Arsenal in recent months. Celtic manager Martin O'Neill recently expressed his interest in signing the former Liverpool midfielder.
"I do. I genuinely do," O'Neill said on Tuesday. "Yes. He has trained at Arsenal for some time since his time in Turkey. "In terms of fitness, it's not match fitness, but it's fine. We'll see. And listen, he's got loads of options.
"I think he was very excited about what we were saying. He knows about the football club. He's a big friend of Joe Hart, and Joe's spoken to him. Not on our behalf. It was just a conversation with Joe."

Oxlade-Chamberlain was part of the Liverpool squad that lifted the 2019-20 English Premier League title. He also won the 2019 UEFA Champions League, 2019 UEFA Super Cup, 2019 FIFA Club World Cup and 2022 EFL Cup during his six-year stay at Anfield.
He captured the FA Cup three times while a member of Arsenal. The former Southampton academy product last appeared for the English national team in 2019.
Celtic will next face Dundee in the Scottish Cup on Saturday at Celtic Park. Wednesday's Scottish Premiership fixture away to Aberdeen had to be postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The Hoops currently sit in third place in the Scottish Premiership table with 48 points gained through 24 league matches played.
