Angel Reese continues to show that she’s the best player in the WNBA Finals. In Game 3 of the series on Wednesday, the Atlanta Dream star exploded for a monster double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the team to a 97-71 blowout win over the Golden State Valkyries.
Reese made history with her performance, becoming the first player in league history to record a double-double in each of her first three Finals games. What made her incredible run even more remarkable was that she’s only 24 years old and is in just her third WNBA season, all while playing in her first WNBA Finals series.
The Dream forward has certainly earned the admiration of her peers, including former rivals.

Dallas Wings guard Odyssey Sims, who played for the Indiana Fever during the 2025 season and experienced firsthand the intense rivalry with Reese and her former team, the Chicago Sky, was hyped about the Dream star’s latest performance and expressed her belief that she’s already the Finals MVP.
“C’mon sis!!!!! Finals MVP!!!! @angel.reese a dawg is an understatement!!!!” Sims wrote in her Instagram stories.
Reese has certainly cemented herself as the frontrunner for Finals MVP. Through three games, she has averaged 21.7 points, 13.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.0 block.
Of course, the Dream will need to win the championship for Reese to really secure the award. No player from the losing team has won Finals MVP in WNBA history.
The Dream currently lead the series 2-1, and they are definitely brimming with confidence, thanks to Reese.
