Mitchell Trubisky spent the past two seasons backing up starting quarterback Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills, appearing in limited action while serving as an experienced reserve.

Trubisky only appeared in 13 games during his second stint in Buffalo, although he never got to start a match for the Bills in the past two years nor in the 2021 season, when he also was on the franchise's roster.

The former No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft has now made his next career move, remaining within the AFC after entering free agency this offseason.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, who first reported the news, Trubisky has decided to become the mentor of one of the NFL's most promising signal callers.

“The #Titans have agreed to terms on a two-year deal with Mitchell Trubisky in a deal done by his agents at @excelfootball,” Garafolo wrote.

The 31-year-old quarterback will transition into a veteran support role behind Titans starter and former No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward, who will continue his development while recovering from a right shoulder injury.

Trubisky is also reuniting with offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, who previously worked with him in Buffalo during the 2021 season.

A veteran of 82 career games with 57 starts, Trubisky owns a 31-26 record as a starter across stints with the Chicago Bears, Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers. Trubisky, however, last started a game in 2023 when he was in Pittsburgh.

The veteran passer completed 25-of-35 attempts for 313 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions during his final season in Buffalo last year.

For his career, Trubisky has thrown for 13,028 yards with 78 touchdowns and 48 interceptions, adding 1,057 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns to his overall production.
