Max Caster is taking an extended break from professional wrestling following his controversial departure from TNA Wrestling. The former AEW star announced his decision after competing at an ACW event on October 17, telling fans he plans to seek therapy before deciding what comes next in his career.
“The Best Wrestler Alive” addressed the crowd after his match, acknowledging that his time with TNA had ended almost as soon as it began. He also thanked fans who had reached out to him following the controversy and apologized to those who had been looking forward to seeing him wrestle for the promotion.
“In the span of one day, I started a contract and ended a contract with TNA Wrestling.”

Caster explained that he had already issued a statement and apologized to several people, but felt he had not directly addressed the fans who supported him. He expressed appreciation for those who continued to reach out and acknowledged that some had planned to watch TNA because of his arrival.
“I really appreciate the support, everybody who has reached out after this happened. A lot of people were excited to watch TNA for the first time or come back to the product, and now a lot of people are disappointed that I’m not on the show. Thank you guys here at ACW for welcoming me. For that, I say, I love you and thank you. I don’t know what my next move is. I don’t know where I’ll be, but I will be stepping away from the ring for an extended period of time.”
The former Acclaimed member then revealed how he intends to spend his time away from wrestling, making therapy a priority as he works through the situation.
“So, I’m gonna go home, I’m gonna go to therapy, I’m gonna get it right so that the next time I’m in the ring, it feels like I’m at home, just like you guys made me feel here tonight.”
Caster did not provide a timeline for his return. His comments suggest he wants to focus on himself before considering another opportunity in wrestling.
Why TNA Ended Its Association With Max Caster
Max Caster’s departure followed his appearance at Bound for Glory on October 11, where he answered Moose’s open challenge. During his entrance rap, he referenced missile attacks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, prompting criticism over the remark.
TNA announced the following day that it would no longer work with Caster. The company apologized for the comments and acknowledged its responsibility for allowing them to air.
Before his brief TNA run, Caster spent several years in AEW as part of The Acclaimed alongside Anthony Bowens. The duo won the AEW World Tag Team Championship and later captured the World Trios Championship with Billy Gunn. Caster’s AEW contract expired in early October 2026, and he had not wrestled for the promotion since December 2025.
With his TNA opportunity over, the 37-year-old star has not indicated where he might wrestle next. For now, he plans to step away from the ring and seek therapy, leaving his return date undecided.
