ESPN "First Take" star Chris Russo is not happy with U.S. golf fans.
Matthew Fitzpatrick, who is from the U.K., won the RBC Heritage on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina last weekend. He took down world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in a playoff. During the final round, rowdy U.S. golf fans chanted “USA, USA, USA” at the English golfer.
Russo was not happy with this.
The longtime sports radio host sounded off on U.S. sports fans, making it clear that he was "disgusted" by their behavior.

Russo admitted that he "couldn't believe" what he witnessed on the 18th hole.
“I could not believe the 18th hole. When Scottie Scheffler was making a comeback against Matt Fitzpatrick…’Did anybody see the crowd?’” Russo asked, per Awful Announcing. “They were singing ‘USA, USA’ walking down the 18th fairway! This is not the Ryder Cup, we’re not fighting Britain in a war for crying out loud! They’re singing ‘USA, USA’ in a golf tournament at the RBC?
“Fitzpatrick is as American as Smith is! He went to vacation in Hilton Head, he freakin’ lives in Miami! I could not believe it! I’m sitting there…and they’re going ‘USA, USA, USA!’ This is not the ’80 Olympics!”
Fitzpatrick, meanwhile, took the high road
Fitzpatrick did not feel similarly.
In fact, he praised U.S. golf fans for their patriotism.
“Americans are incredibly patriotic, and I think that was amazing,” Fitzpatrick said after the tournament. “I guess the only issue is they just have shorter memories because we won in October.”
