Final Injury Report for Mercury-Liberty: Will Sabrina Ionescu, DeWanna Bonner Play?

Both the New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury may be without multiple key players in Friday night’s matchup.

The New York Liberty are at home on Friday night as they host the Phoenix Mercury in an interconference matchup.

New York enters Friday’s game with a 4-4 record after defeating Phoenix at home Wednesday night.

In Wednesday’s victory over the Mercury, Marine Johannes led the way for the Liberty as she recorded 21 points, three rebounds and five assists while Jonquel Jones added 17 points, 12 rebounds and four assists of her own.

Now New York will try to grab another victory at home on Friday as the team faces off against the Mercury once again.

On the other side, Phoenix enters Friday’s contest with a 2-6 record after losing on the road to the Liberty on Wednesday night.

Kahleah Copper led the way for the Mercury in Wednesday’s loss as she ended the game with 19 points, two rebounds and two assists while Natasha Mack recorded 14 points and six rebounds.

While both teams are looking to pick up a victory in Friday night’s matchup, both squads may be without some of their key players due to injuries.

Mercury Injury Report: Will DeWanna Bonner Play?

For the Mercury, they have two players listed on their injury report, including forward DeWanna Bonner.

Phoenix has listed Bonner as probable and she is expected to play on Friday against the Liberty despite dealing with an illness.

The Mercury have ruled out Sami Whitcomb as she remains sidelined to begin the season while recovering from left knee surgery that is expected to keep her out for at least two more weeks.
