Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark never started for Team USA during their championship run in the 2026 FIBA World Cup. Despite that, she showed everyone that she’s one of the best playmakers in the competition.
Clark finished the World Cup averaging 7.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. She led Team USA in assists and was fifth overall in assist-per-game average in the tournament.
The Fever guard, however, recorded the most total assists with 32 in six games. Julie Allemand of Belgium was second with 31 in four games, while Shuyu Yang of China finished third with 28 in five games.

FIBA highlighted Clark’s accomplishment in a social media post on Monday. The organization also shared a highlight reel showing some of Clark’s best assists from the World Cup.
“Everyone gets a candy when CC is on the court,” FIBA wrote in the caption of the post. “32 Assists across six games, no player dropped more dimes than Caitlin Clark in the 2026 World Cup.”
For what it’s worth, several of Clark’s assists in the FIBA World Cup went to Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese.
Clark had a total of seven assists to Reese, four of which came in the quarterfinals against Hungary. In that game, the Fever playmaker assisted the Dream forward on three of her four field goals. It’s worth noting that Clark was also credited with another assist when Reese made a free throw after being fouled on a pass from the superstar guard.
The only times Clark wasn’t able to throw an assist to Reese were during their games against Italy in the group stage and Spain in the semifinals. Clark had one assist to Reese in their meetings with China, Czechia and France.
