Olivia Miles will not play for the Minnesota Lynx against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Tuesday night. Minnesota sits first in the WNBA and needs only one win from its final two regular-season games against Indiana to clinch the No. 1 seed for the playoffs. The Lynx have 32 wins this year and are entering their final road game of the regular season after beating the Connecticut Sun on Sunday.
Miles was initially listed as questionable after an injury surfaced following Minnesota’s 101-89 win over the Connecticut Sun on Sunday. It will be just her third missed game of the 2026 regular season. She had appeared in 40 of Minnesota’s first 42 games.
Olivia Miles Ruled Out Due to Calf Injury
Miles is sitting out Tuesday’s road game because of a calf injury. Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve had previously told reporters that the rookie still needed to be evaluated by the training staff before a decision was made.
“Going to do some testing, and we’ll go from there,” Reeve said (h/t Cassidy Hettesheimer of Star Tribune Sports).
The Lynx ultimately decided not to play Miles, giving her additional time to recover before the playoffs. The current injury involves her left calf and is different from the right calf issue that forced her to miss two games earlier this season.
The decision comes after Miles recently discussed the increased physicality she has faced as teams prepare for the playoffs. Following Minnesota’s loss to the New York Liberty on Friday, Miles said she had been “hounded everywhere” and pushed off her spots, while acknowledging that she needed to adjust to the increased physical defense (h/t Andrew Dukowitz of Zone Coverage).
Lynx Can Clinch Top Seed vs Fever Without Olivia Miles
Minnesota has some room to prioritize Miles’ health with the playoffs beginning Sunday. If the Lynx win Tuesday, they will secure the top seed and could have little reason to push their key players in Thursday’s regular-season finale.
Miles had just produced 21 points, six assists, three rebounds and two steals against Connecticut while becoming the WNBA’s all-time single-season rookie scoring leader. She is averaging 19.8 points, 6.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds this season.
