Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has her eyes on the NBA playoffs on Sunday, as the first slate of games of the opening round concludes. The final Game 1 of the first round of the postseason is between the San Antonio Spurs and the Portland Trail Blazers. It's a much-awaited game, since it will be the first playoff game for the Spurs since 2019.

It's also the postseason debut of All-Star player Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs are a young team, and there are plenty of other players who have not experienced the playoffs. However, the team did not pay attention to the jitters, and they stuck to their game plan from the start.

Wembanyama led the Spurs to a 30-22 first quarter and had 12 points on 66.7% shooting. It was a strong offensive outing from the star player to set the tone and bring the energy to the fans in the Frost Bank Center. Wembanyama also shot 2-for-2 from the 3-pointer, leading the charge offensively.

Clark went on X and expressed her thoughts about the NBA star's performance.

"Wemby is ridiculous," the Fever star posted.

Wembanyama was drafted in 2023, and the following year, Clark was drafted by the Fever. Both players are considered generational talents. The Frenchman is the Spurs' franchise player, and the team is hoping to win a championship with him as the best player. Clark brought a new wave of fanbase to the WNBA and gave it more growth over the past two seasons.

In 2024, Wembanyama spoke highly of Clark when he was asked which WNBA player inspires him the most.

“I think Caitlin Clark,” Wembanyama said. When she was in college, [she was] the only college player that I was really in awe of their game, you know.”

“I'm saying men and women's college basketball, she's probably the most impressive I've seen.”

The two stars have slight similarities in their careers. In their first seasons, both players had historic runs and won the Rookie of the Year award. However, they suffered several injuries during their second season.

Wembanyama was limited to 46 games and was shut down for the rest of the season due to a diagnosed blood clot. Clark only played 13 games last year due to a severe right groin injury, along with left quad issues and a left ankle bone bruise.
