Kelsey Mitchell and the Indiana Fever returned from the All-Star break, picking up right where they left off by defeating the Seattle Storm, 105-95, on Tuesday to win their fourth straight game and six of their last seven. Mitchell finished tied with Seattle guard Natisha Hiedeman for a game-high 35 minutes played.
Hiedeman showed out for the Storm, going 6-for-10 from behind the arc to score a career-high and game-high 33 points on 6-for-10 shooting from 3-point range. Indiana overcame center Aliyah Boston leaving early in the second quarter due to a leg injury with the play of Mitchell and guard Caitlin Clark. Clark finished with a team-high 32 points and a game-high seven assists, while Mitchell poured in 28 points.

Mitchell has had a tremendous ninth year in the league, averaging a career-high 23.5 points per game, second in the WNBA. The 28 points scored by the 5-foot-8 guard marked her 12th straight game tallying 20-plus points. The 20-plus-point streak is reaching historic levels now, as Mitchell is now tied with current New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart for third in WNBA history. On Wednesday, following the game, Indiana reacted to its star guard's scoring streak.
Following the game, the Fever went to the social media website X, celebrating their All-Star guard.
Stewart accomplished the feat in 2017 with Seattle, tying guard Diana Taurasi's mark with the Phoenix Mercury in 2006. The record for consecutive games scoring 20-plus points was set by Las Vegas Aces superstar center A'ja Wilson, who ended the 2023 season on a five-game streak of 20-plus-point games before scoring 20 points or more in the first 15 games of 2024, putting her regular-season streak total at 20.
The Ohio native is an unphased stupor, even putting up a game-high 28 points for Team Coop in the All-Star Game. The Princeton High School graduate has averaged 27.0 points per game over the streak.
