Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will be under a new regime for the 2027 season.
Kelly Krauskopf, the Fever’s president of basketball and business operations, kicked off this Friday by stepping down from her role with the organization. She was Indiana’s general manager from 2000-2017 before returning to the franchise in 2025.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to help build and steward the Indiana Fever with the support and trust of Herb Simon,” Krauskopf said in a press release. “I am deeply grateful for the opportunities, relationships, and shared accomplishments that have shaped my time with this organization. The Fever is poised for an exciting future, and I am proud to have helped lay the foundation for its continued growth and success. I will always cherish my time with Pacers Sports and Entertainment and the people who made it so meaningful.”
Several hours after Krauskopf stepped down, Annie Costabile of The Athletic revealed the Fever are firing general manager Amber Cox.
Cox took over as the Fever’s general manager in October of 2024. Now that she’s on the way out, fans believe Fever coach Stephanie White will be shown the door fairly soon.
After all, White said it was tough coaching the Fever this season due to all the criticism she received online.

“Can’t help but wonder if Steph White is next? What does this mean for Kelsey Mitchell’s future as free agency looms? Definitely interesting stuff going on in Indiana,” Chelsea Leite of TSN Sports asked.
“Red Friday for the Indiana Fever,” one fan wrote on X. “Kelly resigns. Amber fired. Steph White next?”
“Stephanie White by the end of the week… FIRED,” a Fever fan said.
“WE ARE ON A ROLL TODAY,” another Fever fan declared. “STEPH NEXT.”
“I bet CC made an ultimatum, She’ll get paid less but wants a better FO ,Coach and good Pieces to surround her,” another fan commented.
Pivotal offseason for the Fever.
The Fever didn’t exactly have a nightmare season, but a first-round playoff exit for a roster that has Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell is quite disappointing. And yet, if they fire White in the coming days, that would signal a total teardown from a leadership standpoint.
If the Fever are going to maximize their championship window with Clark, they need to have the right general manager in place to make tough decisions – especially with Mitchell set to hit free agency.
We’ll see if the Fever make the right moves this offseason.
