Fernando Mendoza has no current plans to donate millions to Indiana's Name, Image and Likeness funds.
The former Indiana Hoosiers quarterback made millions at Indiana. He'll make tens of millions more at the NFL. Mendoza, taken No. 1 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, has yet to sign his rookie contract. However, once he does, he'll be an eight-figure millionaire several times over.
But is Mendoza planning on donating anything to his former school in Bloomington? College football is an arms race, after all.

While Mendoza loved his time at the University of Indiana, and could decide to donate to the school in the future, he's not planning on doing anything at this moment.
Mendoza is fully focused on his NFL career.
Raiders rookie makes his intentions clear
Mendoza is planning on being charitable, just not necessarily with the University of Indiana and football.
“To be completely honest with you, not at the moment. I haven’t even signed my Raiders contract yet,” Mendoza said to FOS. “I mean, (I’m) definitely going to consider it in the future. However, as of now, I’m trying to focus on Raiders football, and you know, I love to give back. Actually, I did give a donation to the University of Miami as their part in trying to fight MS. That’s a cause that’s a little bit more dear to my heart, to be completely honest, more than the transfer portal.
“So I was able to give back to them through the National MS Society. Just trying to focus on the Mendoza Family Fund, and putting all my resources and all my focus on my charitable actions at the current moment to fight MS, and hopefully one day find a cure.”
