The Tennessee Titans have a ton of rookies who are worth watching closely against the Seahawks this upcoming season. While fall camp and the 2026 season are just now beginning, there have been enough reps to get a gauge on where things stand among the 2026 NFL Draft class.
Here is one rookie who has exceeded expectations, while another rookie has fallen short thus far and has more work to do following the win over the San Francisco 49ers, and ahead of the game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Fernando Carmona is winning the job

Fernando Carmona falling under the “exceeded expectations” category is not something that many fans would have expected entering the fall camp setting. A fair replacement assumption would have been that he could have been someone who improved during camp; however, we now sit here with the belief that the former Arkansas Razorbacks guard is set to be a starter in his rookie season after being a Day 3 draft pick.
Carmona is battling Cordell Volson, whom the Titans brought in during the offseason from the Cincinnati Bengals. Volson was originally expected to be the starter for the team, but the Titans’ right guard battle remains unsettled entering Week 2, as they have plenty of trust in Carmona. Another move that would have made more sense ahead of the season would have been giving Pat Coogan a chance to start at center, but luckily for the Titans, they may have found their answer at right guard.
Carnell Tate still has work ahead

Unfortunately for the fan base, the player who falls under this category is Carnell Tate, who had plenty of high expectations heading into camp but has been on a bit of a roller coaster when it comes to the highs and the lows from fall camp thus far. When he was selected with the No. 4 pick of the NFL Draft, he was brought in to be the WR1 of the team. As of now, I can name at least three receivers who have had bigger moments thus far.
This includes Calvin Ridley, who is a veteran returning from a significant injury that cut his season short a season ago. Tate needs to have a massive game on Sunday against the Seahawks to get on track.
