The New York Jets drafted Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq with the 16th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, giving quarterback Geno Smith a dynamic weapon in the passing game and a legit blocker to bolster the rushing attack.
Sadiq brings a modern tight end profile built around movement skills, catch radius, and versatility. He can line up attached, in the slot, or moved around the formation, giving the offense different ways to create matchups. His athleticism shows after the catch, and Sadiq has enough vertical ability to threaten seams and intermediate windows. The concerns come with polish and consistency, but there's nothing here an NFL coaching staff cannot mold.
2026 Kenyon Sadiq Fantasy Football Outlook
The Jets needed more weapons, plain and simple. Sadiq brings excellent receiving traits and versatility to be game planned around the formation to exploit coverage mismatches. Smith is slated to start as long as the wings stay on the plane. He'll have a safety blanket who can play off the coverage focused on slowing Garrett Wilson and stopping Breece Hall out of the backfield.
Even with the selection of fellow first-rounder Omar Cooper Jr., the Jets have a lot of available targets to go this rookie's way. Similarly to that point, despite TE Mason Taylor being on the roster, Sadiq has the tools to ascend quickly. He's poised for consistent fantasy utility in 2026. His keeper/dynasty upside is through the roof.
