Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold didn't just win a Super Bowl this year, he won over his peers.
Darnold had an outstanding 2025 season with the Seahawks, completing 67.7% of his passes for 4,048 yards with 25 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Not only did he help Seattle capture the No. 1 seed in the NFC, he saved his best game for the conference championship. He completed 25 of 36 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns in a win over the Los Angeles Rams.
Clearly, Darnold's season with the Seahawks impressed the rest of the NFL world. He came in at No. 21 on the NFL Top 100 Player rankings.
While Seahawks fans are thrilled for Darnold, the rest of the NFL community is questioning why he's ranked ahead of most quarterbacks.

"I think 21 is too high," one fan said. "This is Super Bowl recency bias, same thing that put Hurts at 9 last year."
"I know my eyes don’t deceive me is that SAM DARNOLD as the 21st BEST PLAYER IN THE NFL," a second fan commented.
"Winning a Super Bowl is the most overvalued thing in the NFL," a third fan said.
"Everyone knows how bad this list is every year but this is an all time worst ranking," another fan declared.
Can Darnold do it again?
The Seahawks will be one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl this upcoming season, which makes sense considering the majority of their championship core is still intact.
If Darnold wins another championship in Seattle, his legacy will be solidified for years to come.
Darnold and the Seahawks will begin their 2026 campaign with a Super Bowl rematch against the New England Patriots.
