With the 2026-27 season a little over a month away, NBA fans are wondering if LeBron James should be suspended by Adam Silver.
On Saturday morning, James announced a partnership with Polymarket. The Philadelphia 76ers star didn’t share any information about this deal, but it’s very evident that he’s getting involved with the popular prediction market.
“Welcome to Polymarket HQ. Coming soon,” James wrote for his caption. “In partnership with Polymarket.”
While his role with Polymarket is unclear, NBA fans think it’s ridiculous that James is allowed to work with a prediction market while he’s an active athlete. Not only do they believe it damages the integrity of the sport, it sends a bad message to young fans.

“I dare the NBA to suspend LeBron for promoting gambling. Oh wait they don’t actually care,” one fan said.
“LeBron using the offseason to abuse betting markets with LeDecision and then signing an alliance with Polymarket should probably be a massive scandal but it’s Adam Silvers NBA,” a second fan wrote.
“Ban LeBron for 1 year,” another fan declared.
“Worth $1.4 Billion but couldn’t resist an opportunity to promote gambling to young men,” another fan wrote.
Don’t expect the NBA to punish LeBron.
At the end of the day, we highly doubt the league will discipline James in what could be his final season. After all, Silver catered the schedule to the four-time MVP.
“We have to finish up the schedule, right? And where LeBron plays will affect the schedule,” Silver said, via The Hollywood Reporter. “So I would like him to make his announcement already, so he can finish the schedule. Because as you might imagine, the teams are calling us, the networks are calling us, and everybody wants to lock in the schedule. But it will influence how we set the schedule, how we set opening week, Christmas Day, etc.”
Besides, Giannis Antetokounmpo didn’t face any consequences for partnering with Kalshi during the 2025-26 season.
